Firefox and cart problem

I started this thread in the Pro support form but decided to post here since I've seen several people having this issue but with the Safari browser instead. I thought it might be a temp problem but I have been able to replicate the problem repeatly on different machines (desktop running MCE2005, laptop running Vista, and work comp running XP). Even tried different version of Firefox (3.5.7 then upgraded to 3.6...same results). I tried deleting cookies and resetting, still same results. Funny thing is after adding items that never show I can copy and paste the link into IE or Chrome and the cart shows the items. I even copied and paste the link in a private browsing session of Firefox and it works. I'm only testing now as I haven't announced my site to the world yet. I have screen shots but don't know how to link them in order to post. Help please.

The programmer for the cart and I were taking a look at your message and see a couple confusing items. You mention copying the URL and pasting it into a different browser and still seeing items in the cart. Unless you had selected those items in a previous session in that browser, it is not really possible. The cart uses cookies and different browsers typically do not share cookies.

You also mentioned that it works during private browsing session. That is very odd, as private browsing is supposed to not keep cookies.

Can you check those to make sure what you say really is happening? I just want to make sure.

Okay here's an update. I tested out a new laptop that I have and installed Firefox for the first time and tried to see if it would happen (no Firefox add-ons, etc). The cart worked as suppose to. So I went upstairs and played around with my browser on the computer I was having problems with. I disabled the AVG toolbar and everything worked. I enabled the AVG toolbar again just to see if that would block photos from being added. The cart still worked. Somehow its working with no issues. I have no way of explaining this but I did take screen snapshots when the other problems happened.

AVG might be blocking the cookies. Once you disabled the toolbar, it might have allowed the cookie to be created.

If it happens again, you might try these steps:
