Had another chance at humming birds this weekend.
I was experimenting with fill flash.

all @f8 iso 800 400mm

Next time Im going to try and stop it down more and kick the iso back to 400

    Awwwwwwww John they are amazing, I would dearly love to see one with my own two eyes, and to actually get a photo of one would really make my day I tell ya.......those little Hummingbirds have always amazed me.

    Good Shots! Of the Humming bird. I like all except one. (something different, instead of my favorite, my least fave is number 4, though I am sure there is a reason you like it. Maybe because the bird is at rest?) Great set of HB shots, though. (how is the lens? hehe)

    There's just something bothering me on the right side of the image. The image looks smeared there, although it's fine elsewhere.

    Thanks folks for looking and commenting.
    I hope to improve in the near future.The humming birds kept saying...longer lens.:D
    To answer a coupe of question.
    I was in aperture priority so the shutter speed varied and I was hand holding.
