Converting SCSI to USB for a Minolta Cano-scan scanner

I'm not 100% sure this is the right place for this question. I have a conversation going in another thread about getting slides scanned with ScanDigital, which I plan to start doing. However, I still have need for a good scanner at home sometimes. My HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One (flatbed) does ok with some slides, and can give me a higher DPI. However, for some slides, my old Minolta Cano-Scan did a better job. In a pinch, it would sure be handy. Only problem is, it's SCSI & I no longer have a computer with SCSI input (output? I don't know the terminology). Does anyone know if there is truly a way to convert to USB? I haven't gotten far with answers to that. Or is there any way at all to hook the thing up to my newer computer? It's not very large and could sit here on my computer table IF I could hook it up! Thanks for any help.

You might try this Ratoc device:

I haven't used it myself, but I can vouch for the same company's SCSI-to-FireWire adapter, which allowed me to continue using all my old SCSI peripherals without a single hitch after I bought a new Mac with no more SCSI.

I would hope their USB adapter is just as good.

If you have a desktop computer, your other alternative is to add a port by putting a SCSI card into one of its slots.

Thanks a mil, Colorbox! I didn't realize there was anything quite so simple, but it's been a year or so since I searched. Perhaps this is new? Anyway, I'd love to try it... if I can come up with the dough. The price is rather hefty, but if it's the only solution there is, I guess they can charge that much. I'll check around; perhaps I can find it cheaper somewhere. Thanks again!
