I see lots of bald eagles in the forum, unfortunately I don't think mine compare to some of those spectacular shots. But here's my bounty from today's shoot at the Norfolk Botanical Garden.

I think you either need to crop or use longer glass. There are too many distracting elements in the frame. It's a shame too because the eagle looks awesome :)

Ah, yes. Longer glass... These are shot with a 400 f/5.6 L then cropped. I think I need a teleconverter, but I'm a little scared of losing a stop or 2 of light. My other dilemma with this pair is that their nest is in a Loblolly pine with lots of branches and it's surrounded by, you guessed it, a bunch of loblolly pines. Even their in-flight patterns tend to have a background of pine.

Then again, a bad day shooting bald eagles is drastically better than a good day at my desk :)

    Thanks for your feedback!

I like #3 it's nice to see the nest and I like the background, it gives you a sense of where they live.
