Smart Gallery - Comments Disappeared?

Hi,

I have a Newest Work gallery that I cleaned out and converted to a Smart Gallery. The main reason to reuse this gallery was to maintain the comments in the gallery. However, the comments disappeared. The comments are still visible from the Stastics section but are no longer attached to the Gallery.

Should this happen and is there a way to get the comments back?

Yeah ok - but specifically and exactly, a photo in that gallery that should be showing a comment and isn't?

It's the Gallery comments that are missing.

When I go to

Control Panel > Comments

I see, for instance, comment 4 and 5 that were made in the Newest Images gallery. But when I moved all of the images from that gallery in preparation to converting it to a smart gallery those comments disappeared.

Gallery comments won't carry over - photo comments will.
