weird bumps after edits

A couple editing tools are bumping me back to the wrong place all day today, and yesterday as well. After I crop a photo, it used to take me back to that same photo in the gallery. Now it takes me back to the first photo in the gallery-- a pain, if the photo I was working on was on page 3. The other even more unusual bump is: When using "Tools > Color Effects > Tanning Salon, if I click to "tan" the photo, I get bumped all the way to SmugMug's homepage, not even my own. Then I have to navigate all the way back to the gallery I was working in. Sorry I forgot to mention these things yesterday (well, it may have been late yesterday, anyway...)

Hi, both of those are bugs. I have reported them and they are on the list to be fixed. Sorry about that.

You'll want to subscribe to our Release Notes blog, so that you don't miss a single update from SmugMug :)http://blogs.smugmug.com/release-notes/ at the bottom, there's a link for Entries (RSS) - put that in your favorite feed reader.

I thought I had subscribed. I'm rather clueless about RSS feeds, so I guess I don't know where to look for them on my computer after I've subscribed... no one in my household uses them, so I haven't gotten around to asking someone else who knows about this stuff. It always looks so simple... Thanks for looking into the bugs.

Easy. Just go to google.com/reader and get google reader. It's easy.

Oh brother... see, I didn't even know you needed a reader! I just thought they'd show up here... magically I guess! Well, there's a perfect example of why I know just enough about my computer to be dangerous. Eek. Thanks, Andy. Will look into that.

Google Reader is dead simple to use. Don't be shy or afraid thumb.gif

You can also view your feeds in Firefox. Or many modern email clients (Apple Mail, Thunderbird, etc).

Andy, yeah, I didn't even need to download anything. I use FF, so my son helped me figure it out today. It's one of those things I've probably figured out a long time ago & forgot. It happens to us old people :cry I'll prob'ly be back to ask again in a couple weeks when I've lost more marbles again :D

Tanning effect not working? (and still bumping back to SmugMug homepage)
This bug I reported in the first post is still happening: "... When using "Tools > Color Effects > Tanning Salon, if I click to "tan" the photo, I get bumped all the way to SmugMug's homepage, not even my own. Then I have to navigate all the way back to the gallery I was working in..." However, I think it's not just the bump that's happening. I don't think the "Tanning" effect is working at all. The photos don't look any different to me, and the bump happens immediately... i.e. there doesn't seem to be time for the effect to work on the photo.

    Anna Lisa,

I am afraid that the bug simply has not been fixed yet. Sorry. We will announce when it is fixed either here or in the release notes page that Andy pointed to earlier. Hopefully we can get it fixed soon but there are a few higher priority bugs and features that need to be taken care of. Until it is fixed, for editing your photos, I would recommend using a photo editor on your computer. That way you have full control over the changes.

Thanks, Doc. I can be patient. Just wanted to be sure I'd correctly reported it, as earlier I thought it was just the bump but that the effect was still working.
