I purchased a Canon f/2.8L 24-70mm lens 2 weeks ago and I put it to use for the first time last weekend. I was happy with the results that I got from it. Here are some I'd like to share.

I can see you're making good use of your new lens! Nice work. I have that lens too, though I'm finding I don't use it as often as I had thought I might. More often, if I want something in between my 17-40 f/4L and my 70-200mm f/2.8 IS, I end up reaching for my 50mm f/1.4. But the 24-70mm f/2.8L is a terrific lens, and it always gives good results. (Now if Canon would just hurry up with that long-rumored 24-70mm f/2.8L IS...)

Of these pics, I like the pose and composition of #5 best. I like the fact that you're not afraid of "wrong" WB; your use of warm tones in the sunlit shots, and the cool coloring of #10, is really nice.

2,3,4,6,9,11, and 14. OH MY GOSH, Allen! iloveyou.gif Your model is stunning and you also did an equally stunning job on the treatments, poses, setting, comps..the works!

I am going back and forth between this L and the 70-200. My problem is that I often have very tight quarters when I shoot inside with natural light and my 50 is just not cutting it. I can't back up far enough. I think the 24 would be perfect. At 1,500ish I waiting a bit more...but now I just can't wait to get it. I think I'm sold on the 24-70 now.

    Sincerely AWESOME work.

And how did you do the panning, lens baby effect in 6? LOVE!

Though I've been using the 24-105 f/4L more, this was my first L lens. Very nice images, but #2 was simply WOW!!!

I can see why you are not using your 24-70 much considering that you own a f/1.4 50mm. I would love to buy that lens some day. Thanks for your comments!

Thanks Kelly! #6 is nothing but "Radial Blur" with the "zoom" option selected in Photoshop. I applied it everywhere but on her. It sounds like you are going to need the 24-70. I bought mine around $1,300 from B&H Photo.

24-105 is a quite good L lens. I just sold it with my 5D (since I have 5D Mark II now) on ebay and instead bough the 24-70mm. This made sense to me because I already own a 70-200mm f/2.8L.
