Great butterfly shots Ben!! Nice clean uncluttered backgrounds. But not done with macro lens either, was it?? A 300mm telephoto - which can be great for butterflies if they focus close enough. :):

Excellent work Ben. The settings you used were perfect, the backgrounds are fine. The 300/f4 is one outstanding lens. I'm considering getting it again.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Right you are PF, In fact since I rarely take this lens off, I'm thinking of getting a 500D so I can get even a little closer thumb.gif
    What do you think ??
    Well gotta get a TC1.4 1st :D

    I didn't realize your 300F4 focused to 1.5 feet. That is impressive - my Canon 300mm only gets to 2.5 feetumph.gif And I can't fit a 500D to it
    !

What is the filter diameter of your 300f4? AH hah!! 77mm for the Nikon 300f4. A 500D will slip right on. Cool - that will allow you to get even closer.

Nice butterflies with lovely background bokeh.

Nah I had that wrong only 4.8', sorry about the mistake. I read it as 1.56 but that was meters.

Sorry Nikk for the mistake but it's 1.5 meter or 4.8 feet for min. focus. Still seems to work for me quite well thumb.gif

Those are some great shots. I especially like the second, I've never seen a butterfly like that before. Keep em coming.

Seeing all these great macros in here makes me want a 100mm macro too Steve.
