A few of my large (10MB++) failed to upload with the message "too many bytes received."

What does this mean and how to fix it?

Thanks!

How much larger than 10 megabytes? See http://www.smugmug.com/help/upload-photos for size limitations.

hmm ok... that may be the answer I'm looking for. Some are slightly larger like 12.9 MB, some are quite a bit larger like 15-16 MB. I will try to render them as smaller files and see if that helps.

    Thanks very much

Actually I'm not sure that's the problem anymore. I took a look at my logs and there are many "Wrong bytes received" errors, even for files are that are as small as 1 MB. Most of my files are between 5-10 MB and they uploaded fine, but there's about 1/3 that just refuses to be uploaded and I don't understand why. They are of varying sizes.

Btw all of these pictures uploaded to Facebook just fine. not sure if that helps at all to know.

    Hi

Which uploader? Any anti virus software?

If you are using the Simple Uploader, the two things to check first are that you have up to date Java and are not using AVG9 antivirus. Write the heroes for specifics.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I've tried multiple uploaders. I'm on Mac and used

    1. Simple uploader on Firefox 3.x
    2. MacDaddy 3.0.4 (510)
    3. Plugin on iPhoto

All with the same results. By the way I did a line test and this is the results:

    0% loss latency 243ms

Let me know if that means anything other than a slow connection.

    Thanks
