On this really pretty lake you could go out into this boat which would take you out to an island in the middle of the lake. On the island is a temple. Really cool. On the way though you could feed these seagulls which seem to congregate anywhere free food is on offer. Someone on this forum once gave me a stifling rule and said don't shoot a backlit subject but I say BAH! That's what fill flash is for!

Saw these rosy cheeked children on the a trail also in Lijiang. (Nearly everyone had rosy cheeks.)

Enjoy, thanks for looking!

Very nice use of that fill flash in #1. I love the looks of the boat and sun and the water and the driver. Looks like a nice ride across the lake.

Thank you so much! I really enjoy nikon's wireless flash abilities. I have no experience with Canon's or anyone elses but I've taken some shots I'm really happy with using one or more remotely triggered speedlights. In the boat shot an SB-800 on camera lights up the woman, and a second speedlight, this one an SB-600 is located on the floor the boat.

If anyone has a desire to open up a world of possiblities, a couple of speedlights can be a lot more fun than another lens.

    Thanks for looking.
