I continue to try to wrap my head around what works and what doesn't in this genre. Your continued help is much appreciated.

This man just epitomised old British movie characters I saw as a child.

Is this too candid portrait?

The first is almost great. Wonderful framing and there is something threatening about the figure. But I want to see at least a little better into the shadow.

Everyone who goes out to shoot on the street gets lots of ones like the second.

The last two are very nice. Great compositions, interesting setting in the pub. Perfect exposure. The woman in the third with the eye liner is an interesting story. Great DOF and pub interaction in the last.

I've been really loving the shots you get in the pub.
    If not now, when?

Thanks rutt. I'll play with the shadows a bit in #1. The guy in the last one stood out for me. Everyone around him was engaged while he tried and tried to get the bartender's attention.
The young lady with the eyeliner was very interesting. She was very petite with very long hair and sat demurely waiting for her boyfriend. The eyeliner was amazing.

Thanks Dee. I took it under the High Level (train) bridge. The architecture offered a great tunnel view.
