Hi All,
I'm getting some photos ready for a state fair. They use the American Judging Rules for their photo contest. I've searched for some time now and can't find anything on this. Does anyone know what this means (seriously). A site or quick explanation would be great. I'd just like to know what's being judged and to what weights. I really don't have a clue on this.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I found the answer and am posting it for posterity.

    American judging rules:
Exhibits are judged against each other and placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. No unworthy exhibits will be awarded any ribbons. What this means is that if there is only a single entry and it's unworthy, then no award will be given. The key here is that entrants are judged against the immediate participants.

    Danish judging rules:
The difference here is that exhibits are judged against a standard, usually a published standard. So here, you may have several blue ribbons if they meet those standards or no ribbons if none meets any standards.

Thanks to anyone who had tried to find this info,
    Chris

After your initial post I was curious what the answer would be. Thanks for posting the answer.

But, now the question that begs an answer is what constitutes an unworthy entry?
