I think the Ocotillo's are distracting in these shots. Once they start to green up and flower they will make for a better foreground subject but I think in this state they would be best served if not in the immediate focus.
Looks like a pretty rough canyon area. Do you have some trail photos?

Thanks for the input. After your input and reviewing my shots from this trip I did seem to be fixated on shooting with the ocotillos in the foground and I agree they destoy the intent to captue the backgorund landscapes.
Oh well, live and learn.
I only had a few that did not have foreground distractions. Here are some examples.

Nice background. Question, the bush in front - was it intentionally focused ? Atleast in pic 1 and pic 2 it is distracting me - maybe that is just me.
