Replace multiple photos problem...

I am trying this feature for the first time.

When I click on the button to go to the next screen and I drag over the files, I am getting an error that states there are no matching files.

Granted the file I am attempting to upload as a .jpg showing, but that shouldn't be a problem. When I go to the file to attempt to rename it, and I click on the file to rename, it does not have a jpg and a .jpeg at the end of the name...it is the exact file, with only a save as to a different place. Manually replacing the files works.

Any ideas? I have included a screen shot for your reference.

Thanks!

Sorry for the troubles. :( We do have a bug with the replace tool if you used the exact same file. This would cause the file not to replace along with any other files you were replacing at the same time.

In order to repalce a file the new file must have a different resolution or file size to replace the old file. :(

Looking at the order, looks to be JobethBridal_035.JPG didn't get replaced.
All the other images looked to have been repalced last night between 7-8 PM PST.

Hmmm. Interesting bug. Is something that will be fixed eventually? Actually, I am still a little confused because the files WERE different FILE sizes. I upload the full size resolution file on the initial upload, but squish it good via JPEG to quality 3. This is actually what the SM recommendation is. This was a solution to make sure clients can order any sized product.

Once they order an 8x10 or bigger, I do two things. One, custom airbrush the photo, spot retouch, etc. (from my original) then save as quality 11 and then reupload.

So, all 5 files were different sizes (file size) from what was online. So, it sounds like to me that the bug is that it must be a different resolution. ????

Anyway, I manually uploaded the other 4 files...and am waiting on an email from the client for the 5th file.

I am really hoping to use the bulk replace feature in the future, so hopefully this is an easy fix for you guys.

    Thanks!

Drew, the system is checking what is called the MD5 checksum. I don't think it is checking the resolution. But I will take a look and see. It may be a bug.

I have a problem with this too - but the root of my problem is that photoshop renamed filename.JPG to filename.jpg when I did a save as. Smugmug's replace multiple won't recognize that it is the same filename with the different case in the extension. So I had to go through Bridge and do a batch rename on the files before I could use the replace multiple feature.
