I've been on three recent climbs and I wanted to share a photo or two from each. Much more to go through, but while I'm at it?

It's just the alpenglow on the slope. You'd be surprised how red it gets!

Actually I was skiing. This was my first time ever heading out with a snowshoer. He was wishing he had skis cause the 7500-ft descent I had was done in minutes in what took him hours. But...he seemed to enjoy himself before he had to pull out his axes and crampons higher up.

Thanks...it was a real bummer that I carried my big tripod all the way in just to find out I forgot my plate. A real bummer, but the photo still turned out good. I just wish it were sharper. . But hey, what's carrying 6 lbs extra along with the other 12lbs of camera gear, skis, overnight gear, avi gear and climbing gear. . Yeah, I was bummed, but lessons are hard learned or not at all, right?

Oh that just looks nuts. I can't imagine walking up in boots/snowshoes let alone skis. So cool.

Ouch. But I suppose the tripod could act as a spare (and incredibly unwieldy and expensive) ski pole? Nice job regardless.

These photos are so awesome. I've run out of words. Just spectacular.
I think you deserve one of these:
18 lbs. is a lot lighter than I would have thought, my camera bag is 25-30 lbs. with tripod, you're obviously a more disciplined packer than I am!

With all my climbing and ski gear I have to be frugal. On bigger trips I've had my pack at upwards of 95lbs. What I sacrifice is the little things. I have one small lens, one big one, extra batteries, cheap mini tripod, a timer and cleaning stuff...no filters. That is it. I want to bring more, but I can't afford anything else (unemployed) and...I don't know if I can carry anymore :cry. But hell, I love it so "why not". I'm glad you guys like. As many of you know, it's a fair bit of effort to get to these places.
