Collage Photos

I was wondering if anybody out there knew how to produce single sheets of photos that have say, one main photo in the middle, and four or five smaller photos infused on the same sheet, but around the main photo. Is there a way to do it without doing it through a Photoshop type process? I use JASC for my photo editing needs, and I am very basic and limited as to what I know about the intricate parts of photo editing. I just this past year learned about cloning. I was just wondering if anybody had another way of doing it that I probably know nothing about. I have parents who are interested in getting sports photos of their kids in this fashion, and I'd like to be able to produce it for them.
Thanks for any help you can give.

You could try Shape Collage. It's free and has a bunch of options. Made this with it last year:

I know you can make shapes - I don't know if you can vary sizes.
