I moved a bunch of images around, but and turned off external link. But my stats show activity. How is that possible?

Moving an image on SmugMug will not change it's direct link. But turning off External Links will block it from being viewed. Can you give us a link to the gallery so we can take a look? You can email us if you don't want to post links here: http://www.smugmug.com/help/emailreal.

Does anyone else have access to the gallery you moved it to? Did you view that gallery logged out? That will log hits in your stats.

I know almost nothing about these things, but ...
For Google Analytics, stats for "me" show up anyway. I'm using the same machine and have removed my IP address, but these register hits:

    - I upload photos/videos to a gallery (via SM choices - haven't tested others) (source shows smugmug.com).

    - I recently subscribed to a feed of various parts of my site, and the feed registers hits when it ... does whatever it does ... scans the site, etc, when there has been a change to the gallery.

    - Within GA, if I click the icon to go to the referenced page, I think that registers a hit. (This is the only one I'm not entirely sure about.)

I've been able to test the first two, especially the first, over and over - unlisted gallery, I work in specific pages, and bang, exact stats for them show up in GA.

I would like to know how to remove these hits and not compromise GA's real numbers, but haven't a clue how.

And that doesn't mean these are happening for you...
And to complicate things I usually have allow external links turned on which may cancel anything I've said that might be useful otherwise.
