I'm VERY happy that Nikon decided to make a high-end, (almost)-no-compromises f/1.4 prime that was small and light. I'm just not a fan of the huge, heavy 50 1.2 and 85 1.2 that Canon make, when I pick up a prime I expect it to be considerably lighter and smaller than the zooms in that range. Otherwise I'd just as well use a zoom, some of the time.

Whether or Not Nikon makes a 50 1.2 AFS, I don't care. F/1.4 is the sweet spot for me, and I only wish the lens were FASTER at autofocusing. I still haven't decided if I want the Sigma 50 1.4 or the Nikon 50 1.4, but I suspect the Nikon may win me over in the end, with it's size and sharpness... :-)
