I had the following photo which is already entered in the gallery:

Then tonight, I shot the following when opportunity knocked:

I like both and would appreciate feedback for which you think I should choose as my final entry.

Thanks!

the second one is a stronger composition image. Crop off the dead space just right of the door some and it will be a very strong composition.thumb.gif

+1 I'd be tempted to see how a square crop would work on this one with the silhouette still off to the right side.

Opportunity knocked and you answered. :D

#2 is a great shot. Like other posters have suggested, try cropping some of that dead space from the left.

#2 is more evocative for me. it evokes thoughts of travel, planes, boats....and i think the composition is really strong. i love the plane inside the lines of the sailboat. the triangles. and its really strong on the theme.
    mark;)

I happen to like #1 as well, I like the brightness of the sky and the composition.

Thanks to everyone, thus far, who have given me feedback. I am still undecided as the first one is a tough one to override, though the "creepy" factor of the second one does evoke some visceral emotion. I did follow suggestions and cropped the second to the following (with the first included to be able to compare side by side):

    Continued feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
