We had planned to go to Yellowstone again this weekend. Then, at the last minute – I cancelled our reservations. We decided to head north in search of Snowy Owls. I’m no expert on these owls, but I have to say I can count all that I Have seen in my lifetime on one hand (and I get out quite a bit). So, you can imagine how comical it is to actually decide to go looking for one. We decided to head towards Kalispell and see if we could see anything. At the last minute this morning, we went a completely different direction. Somewhere we have never been.. You can imagine our surprise when on a snowy back road, this lovely bird sat on a fence post right off the side of the road!

Nice shot! How do you like that Mark IV. I've read over the Internet about problems with the focusing system from time to time. True? I want one badly!

I can't see your snowy[on dial-up up here in the boonies of Alberta] but i am glad to hear you found one. They had a very difficult year last year with the lemming population gone, many hundreds died of starvation in Sask. and this year they are not as plentiful as past years,so I hope the food situation has sorted out for them.[I'll be able to see next year].clap.gifclapclap.gif
