Here are some photos that i shot at a local mx race this weekend in northern California. C&C please!!

1. Ty Keenom, local pro. Keep an eye out for this fast teen. He has the smoothest style I've seen in awhile. No mistakes.

2. Always good when someone can throw a bike flat. Makes for some fun photos.

I mostly shoot with a Nikon D90 and a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8. But with the closer photos, like photos 4, 8, and 9, I found one of my mom's older lenses from her extinct film camera. I don't know why, but the AF wasn't working on it, so I had to manually focus. I've never had to do that before, so it was a good learning experience. I will definitely stick with AF from here on out. I can't remember the specs on the lens, but I'll post it when I get home. Im in one of my college classes right now.

I live in Oakdale. About 30 minutes east of Modesto. Where are you from?

oh.. and I found the specs on the lens that I used for close up shots. Its a Nikkor 28-85mm f/3.5. I need to figure out why it didn't want to focus automatically. I'll have to mess with it this weekend at one of the local races.

ya, thats what i usually use. I switched to standard this time just to experiment with it. I like vivid a little bit more though. The riders gear and their bike really "pop" with color.

I should be. The big races this year for me are the Hangtown Pro Motocoss National, hopefully Washougal Pro National and the Dodge Amateur National.

When you are shooting from the top of a berm, try a vertical shot. One track I used to shoot at those were the best selling pictures. They look good, and you did a great job. Experiment with different angles and shutter speeds, MX is a blast to shoot
