ahhhhh ... man that's a pretty good puddle ... we get so little rain here in SoCal that when it does rain enough to create a puddle, it's never crystal clear like yours ... always full of oil, crud, dismembered bodies, et cetera.

Hahaha, dismembered bodies... yet another reason I couldn't live in cali, aside from the blistering heat and no rain. I'm a cold weather guy (AK native for 23 years).

Oh no no no. It doesn't rain that much here. It is MILD compared to my hometown. Everyone here thinks it rains a lot, compared to the desert, it might. But compared to a place where it actually does rain a lot, it doesn't rain much here at all.

Portland, OR - months during the summer with no rain...
Juneau, AK - hours during the summer with no rain...
Portland, OR - Days during the winter with rain...
Juneau, AK - Months during the winter with rain (or snow).

The joke back home goes...If you can't see the mountain, it's raining, if you can see the mountain, it's gonna rain.

After living in Seattle for almost 4 years it doesn't rain that much as far as quantity goes, it is just damp and drizzly most of the time during the winter! Although we do get several months during the winter when it is dry and sunny. Doesn't hold a candle to what my girlfriend (who is also from Alaska, for those who don't know her) has told me about Alaska's weather!

I much prefer to live in a land that doesn't bite you in the a$$ when you walk out the door. Sunday took my pooch to Dog Beach in Huntington Beach, CA. It was 70F ... in the heat of summer the beach may hit mid 70's.

But you-all be right proud of your inclement weather ... yes-sirree ... be proud ...
