Having gone to your pages from the race, I have to question the first two shots you picked. They're simply not as strong as other images you had to choose from.

In the first image, between most of the bottom third of the image being blown out, and the rider looking down, there's just no place for the eye to naturally settle. The thing that stands out to me is the top of the helmet, and I'm not sure that's what you were going for. Any of the two or three shots immediately before or after it are much stronger shots.

Your second shot would benefit from a portrait crop of just the rider on the right. All that empty space in the middle, and the two guys dangling off the other side of the frame are doing nothing for you.

The third shot is a real nice shot, even if it is of that damn dirty doper, but that's a whole different subject.

    Overall, very nice.

    Thanks for looking.
I shot 32 gig of this race over the last three days and these were just some that I liked initially. Valid critique of the shots but for some reason I like the first shot because the bottom is overexposed. I love that he is head down, off the front and mashing the biggest gear he can push.
