Walked out into a frozen forest pond yesterday and found this dead tree with a healthy crop of mushrooms.



Shot w/my old Olympus manual 35mm f2 lens @ about f4. A silver-nose never looked so sharp!

I love the vibrant colors of the mushrooms against a usually pretty blah tree

They grow like that in the swamp anyway

You didn't have to hang long. It's not very spectacular in color, but it has a certain charm.

They cover tons of trees live and dead around here. Very photogenic, too.

The colors are much different from those I see in the swamp...
