hmmm...I wonder.....what are you using as a security for your computer? I wonder if there is a setting in there that is taking exif info out? I am not having a problem and I use both pspx2 and I use windows for uploading with no problems.

Interesting question and thought. I use Norton Antivirus. After going through my whole process with a new batch of photos tonight, I have found that the problem doesn't seem to be in uploading from camera to computer, or from computer to smugmug (or wherever). The problem seems to be in when I edit an original and do Save As and save it to a new folder, new name. so that would totally be within the Corel psp program, yes? I mean, I'm using Windows Explorer to get images from memory card to laptop. Exif is still there. Then using Windows Explorer to copy those images into Corel. Exif is still there. Open original in corel. Exif is still there. Edit. Save As. Exif is NOT on saved, edited copy.

OK, here's an idea: Upload to your computer from your camera. In Windows Explorer, make a copy of the pic and call it Unedited_xxx, whatever. That will be your unedited version. Then open the original pic in Corel and do your editing. When you are done, use Save instead of Save As... I'm assuming that you have that option. Then check to see whether Windows can see the EXIF data. It may be that Corel doesn't like to put EXIF data in copies it creates but will preserve it in the original file.

Update: Using Windows Explorer, then opening first in Corel PSPx2 (didn't even mess with X3), editing original, then using Save As, not Save Copy As, seems to retain exif. Not sure if I was using Save As or Save Copy As before.
Will try same procedure as above with X3 tomorrow to make sure that is where the issue is.
Haven't tried Richard's suggestion yet, but I can feel it coming.

Yes...definately...if you were using save as copy that would cause it to strip the exif. Hope it works for you.
I thought I posted it, but I never did. Corel has acknowledged that the EXIF problem is in X3. Here the response from Corel:

That's worth a try , Richard!

Experiment done!
The results are that it is definitely the X3 upgrade. No matter if you use Save As or Save Copy As or anything else, the exif is stripped using X3.
Using X2 and Save As, the exif is still there.
I did it both ways, using both X2 and X3 separately. Used Windows Explorer both times to upload from memory card to laptop.
Grrrrrrr. I still want my 'upgrade' money back!

Dear Mr/ Ms Barton,
Thank you very much for your e-mail.
The issue has already been reported to R & D, as a workaround, the information is complete when viewed from the Browser but not from the Full Editor.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further questions.
I don't think much of the 'workaround'. And Corel now considers the problem 'closed' since it was passed to R&D.
Kind regards,
Joselito
