#44 Just a thought

Haven't had much time to participate these past couple of months but thought I'd give it a try. Is this idea any good? Your comments are, as always, appreciated.

At first I didn't even see the face. huh I was staring at the blue and the nice crisp line trying to figure out what the blue was. This shot is intense. I like it a lot.

EDIT: The more I look at it and the more I let me eyes cross from blue to black, the more interesting and intriguing this is. Very interesting.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I started working on this last night and will try a few more takes on the idea this evening.

I think the subject needs to be doing something. Perhaps having a beverage or a cigarette?

Thanks Linda. I was thinking the same thing. I especially like the cigarette idea since the smoke would create an interesting element. Unfortunately this is all being done in my hotel room. So, no smoking in this shot . I'll have to think of something else.

Try a cup of coffee or tea then. The steam coming from the hot beverage should make for an interesting effect too. And I'm sure your room has a coffee maker in it.

... Also the background looks a little busy and dark to me. Maybe you can lighten it a bit...

OMG!!!! Forget the steam or smoke! Including the flame like you did was a genius move and it rocks!

Maybe you can try a shot that includes a hint of either a lighter or a match??? Right now the flame looks like it's hanging in mid air.
