Cloudy Beach Sunrise

I went out for a shoot on the beach this morning for sunrise. It was a starry morning when I left home, but quite overcast looking out to sea. This is one of the shots I was able to get that I thought turned out ok.

I'd love some critique please. I also changed my signature - tell me if it works for you.

    Karl,

    I think this is a nice composition, especially with the silky water effect. The flat light lends itself to a B&W conversion IMO. I don't think that's the only way to go with the picture though because the color version is quite moody already. An overall nice capture...thumb.gif

    I actually really like it, I like the effect and the colors. I think its unique and intriguing. thumb.gif

    Personally, I feel the color shot is the better of the two. I love the mysterious look of chains leading out toward the pier. Very nice.

    i like the b&w chain shot. agree that the chain gives an "ominous" feel that really makes the shot. great comp.
