I had promised in another thread that I would post a couple more images using the Fractalious plugin for PS from Redfield Plugins. These shots use the same technique of multiple layers with the filter and some layer opacity adjustments and layer masks to reduce the filter affect in certain areas (mostly around the eyes). Hope you enjoy, and as always, all comments are greatly appreciated.

Very interesting stuff here, Dave. Nicely executed.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

That's a really cool technique, I especially like the Tiger.

It's a really cool effect, I have got to get that thing, but to me some of them get way too busy for my tastes. I like #1 the best.

Have you thought about trying that in conjunction with masks thereby controlling what areas get treatment... Just a thought.

Thanks Black Mamba, Dedalus, and Roadkill. I agree that this is a lot like HDR where sometimes it can be too much affect. I also agree about the masks, and I do use layer opacity and layer masks to reduce the filter affect in some areas. Again, it's a lot like HDR where some folks like it and others don't. I have gone both heavy and minimal on the affect and like each in certain cases. Here's a minimalist aqpproach done to make the shot look like a sketch or charcoal drawing. I appreciate the thoughts and comments. Thanks

Definite visual appeal. A kind of eye candy. Certainly an excellent tool
to have at ones disposal for those times a good image will take the
effect well and finish in the sweet spot.

The BW'd + effect, boat pier looks super to me. Where have I seen that
photo? First time you posted it?

The last 2 letters on the back of that boat appear as double S to me. :D
Sort of a "what the hay" moment.

Dogdots, I'm sure that with the creative talent that I've seen in your work, you will produce some amazing results using this plugin thumb.gif
DaddyO, It is a great tool and, like you say, you must select your image carefully. I don't remember posting this image previously, but at my age I sometimes can't trust my mind. By the way the boat image did start out as an HDR, so it had plenty of detail to start the alteration with.
