Gallery comments in virtual gallery

I have a virtual gallery set up for one of the smugmug communities. The virtual gallery is fed from an existing gallery. I can't get gallery comments to turn on in the virtual gallery even though they are turned on in that gallery's control panel. Is this because comments are turned off in the original gallery which feeds the virtual gallery?

    Hmmm. I might have a slightly different case. I just received a gallery comment on a virtual gallery (fed from my other galleries via keyword). The comment is visible in the stats page, and I received the usual email.

    But the comment is not visible in the virtual gallery. Comments are turned on in all my galleries.

    I now have comments turned on in the feeding gallery and the virtual gallery. I received an email that I had a comment. It's been approved in my control panel. I can see the comment in my control panel, and while there is the usual place for gallery comments in the virtual gallery, the comment that has been posted and approved is not visible in either the virtual or feeding gallery.     I have received gallery comments and photo comments in this virtual gallery; only the photo comments are visible in the gallery. The gallery comments do not appear and are viewable only in the control panel. At first, I think the help desk thought the problem was resolved because they could see photo comments. But then I pointed out that it was gallery comments that were not viewable; still waiting on a response to this issue.

    If you wrote at 1am-ish SmugMug time (CA), we're sleeping for 4-5 hours. Help desk is answering mails now and yours will be answered - holler if you don't get it from us!

    This was a leftover from prior to the weekend. Put it through again; I think they are trying to troubleshoot this.

    I suspect this is a bug. Just hope that it is fixable because otherwise, it renders this feature troublesome for me as it is nice to have the gallery comments viewable in the communties.

    Andy, the original query was sent about 4 pm European time, i.e. 7 am California time on last Friday - with no response in the last three days. I just sent it again, 8:30 pm here, so 11:30 am in California.

    Here the answer I received. [Thanks to the support heros...]
    It seems that gallery comments don't come up well in our smart or collected galleries. Since those are virtual copies, making the gallery comment may be a source of confusion for Smuggy to know where those comments should land. (Original gallery, or the smart gallery?)

    We'll make sure that our team knows if the problems, if they don't already. Our engineers will either find a way to make gallery comments appear, or they'll make them unavailable.
    So now we know the status. We'll see what 'Smuggy' decides.
