I am a cheer photographer for locale events and i shoot my kids competitive events (not the photog) on the big events. looking on how i can up my photo quality. The locale events gym lights keep my shutter speed low (1/250 iso 1000 Tv mode) I do a custom white balance off a white piece of paper. Some one told me to shoot in av mode but when i do the photos are very over exposed. I always look at the event photographers photos and they are mostly out of focus and the colors off. I am just trying to cut my post editing down. Dose anyone use a expodisc?

    The photos are great.
Cheer is tough and your pictures look great.
I shoot my daughter highschool basketball photos and now the boys also.
I use the expodisc and it does a great job plus I always folded the white paper or it got a crease in it that kinda messes with the white balance.
The expodisc is easier then using the white sheet of paper. I shoot the lights for the white balance not sure if that is what you are suppose to do though when I do a test shot of the kids I am not as excited about the end results. Keep up the great work. The other thing you might try is manual mode. That is the only area of the camera I can figure out TV and AV for me is extremely inconsistant though I am sure it is more operator than equipment.
