HTML Only pages embedding photos without making a gallery

Hi all,

In HTML only galleries can photos be inserted using standard html code? I'm sure the code's fine, but I'm wondering how to link to the photos since there can't be any actually in the gallery or you get the image gallery showing up. Is the answer to link to photos in a different gallery with external links set to on?

Here's one example of html type gallery.

You can have photos in the gallery and hide them with CSS. For an example
if adding images into your html, keeping them in the gallery will help you know
where they are. Like this example. Plus you have to have at least
one photo in a gallery for comments to work.
