travel photography - postcard shots - sometimes, you have to! and hey, that's ok. i find most of them boring, but my wife wants them for the photo albums, so i shoot them anyhow - you know, the same shots that every other tourist gets - we all have 'em
what i *try* to do when faced with a common subject, is to shoot it in an uncommon way. i have lots of "standard" shots of big ben, but tonight i was trying for that something "different."
here's st. james' tower, aka big ben to most of the world
i really dig this one, it shows big ben, and the architectural details that one sees all over this magnificent city:
incidentally, that first shot has extended range, i shot it in raw, developed two exposures, one for the phone box and one for big ben and the sky - that's all explained here.
enjoy (tourist) photography,
