CS4 Bridge not showing thumbs in Win7-64

My laptop is in the shop, so I am working on a boworred Acer Win7-64 Home Premium machine. When I open Bridge CS4, it does not display thumbs, just icons. I have updated everything to current releases. PS will open the 50D .CR2 files in ACR without a problem. But Bridge is not cooperating. Anybody have an idea of what the problem might be?

    common problem with bridge, open it up.. go to tools > cache > purge cache. If that doesn't work download the newest version of ACR and then repeat the process.
