Almost certainly a mistake on Canon's part, but the 20D is missing from their website. A 30D soon anyone? :)

    Yeh,
I saw this on the Canon forum in DPReview today. People love to speculate. I still love my 20D even if it was out dated 3 weeks before I bought it. I'm still trying to figure out what all the buttons do on this thing so I won't be upgrading to anything else any time soon. Hmmm...I said that too when I bought my Sony V3 just a few months before my 20Dne_nau.gif.

    Go figure,
    Chris

No idea. Just as stumped as everyone else.
It still shows up at the Canadian and other country sites. A seach at the US site pulls up a hybrid page, but now lists September 2005 as debut date for the 20Da. But the picture shows a 20D, the title says 20D, and the blurb below is the same text as the 20D page used to be. So it's a bit messed up...

Has a hacker been re-writing Canon's site, or is the Canon web gura a hack, or what the hack is going on there? Other forums are ripe with ideas and theories, but no plausable explanation thus far.
Then there's this page, which only lists the 20Da model...

The 20Da is supposed to be an astronomical-only camera, and not for normal light shooting, so that's not intended to be a replacement for the 20D.

20D was released in November 2004, so 10 months is a little early yet for a 30D to appear.

I can see a one page only mistake as an understandable oversight, but with several pages now altered, is there something deeper stirring? headscratch.gif

I can only hope. That would mean used 20d's would be cheaper and I could finally add one to my collection.

It would seem that the good people at Canon have placed the 20D back on the list of current cameras. The 20D pages and pictures are back on the official US website as of late this morning.

If they were going to pull something off the main page, then why not the 300D, as it was replaced months ago with the Rebel XT (350D)?
