First Bird Shots

This is my first submission to Dgrin I have to say I love looking at the photos on the site, and am a little intimidated :rofl Anyway, today I was waiting for a train, and decided to take a few pictures.

These were taken with a Nikon D40 with a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR. All shots at 105mm.

    I have a 105 and shooting birds with that lens is as hard as it gets, well it is easier than shooting with a 50 :D A 200 or a 300 makes birds lot easier but a good start thumb.gif

    Thanks! I had no idea how challenging shooting flying bird was! I can't imagine doing it with a 300mm lens

    VERY GOODclap.gifI like the 3rd one best[good clarity] I too have not posted yet just learning how. HINT; stabilizer lenses are great for birds in flight,and panning is all you need to do.Well i only have part of one arm left and it is good for me,I would think others use them too. HAPPY SHOOTINGwings.gif
