Here's my list of equipment: I mainly do portraits. I have a small 16x20 indoor studio, but my love is shooting outdoors. I'm really just starting out professionally, so any advice would be appreciated.

Canon 40d
Canon T1i
85mm 1.8
50mm 1.4 and 1.8
Tamron 28-75
2 Alien bees studio lights w/remote trigger
1 Westcott Background light
4 backdrops including chromakey green

For those of you who have done this for a while, is there anything you see that I need to add?

Thanks in advance. :lust

+ 1 on the tripod................lightstands.......I highly recommend replacing standard stands with C-Stands complete.........this is a stand that comes in pieces......the legs the risers and the boom arm........and I would have all of them on wheels for quicker set ups (wheels can be easily removed for out door shooting..........

Here is a link for an ebay seller that manufactures his own brand of C-STAND....................

I have one canon speedlight 270 but I need another larger one. Any suggestions? I have plenty of modifiers (umbrellas, softbox, gels, etc.) I do need a good tripod.

    Thanks guys!

For running around or outdoors work, invest in a Canon 580EX II speedlight and a way to trigger it off camera. I use a TTL cord sometimes, but mostly I use Elinchrom Skyport radio triggers. You can easily grow your on-the-run kit with more 580EX or lower cost Vivitar 285HV or similar.

Yes, this is a pricey addition, but once you leave the studio the price of AlienBee Vagabonds and the hassle of transporting all that make it an easy choice. For me, anyway.

Are you content with the lenses that you have for the purposes you need?
Do you get sufficient FOV for your studio size?

Yes Ziggy. I love the Tamron. After I bought the 50mm 1.4 (as you recommended), I felt like I need something where I didn't have to move with my feet so much. The Tamron has been a great addition. I'm gonna save for the new speedlight and tripod. Thanks for all the help/advice.
