Playing with light

I took a few photos today of a snowdrop, and used a desklamp to change the angle of the light each time.

I was trying to find a decent composition for the shadow behind the flower and couldn't decide if one, or indeed any of them, worked as an image.

It was purely for experimentation, nothing especially serious, but these are the finished results, with different processing on them.

Any opinions?

Paul.

I like the last one the best.

The way how light falls on stem, and just enough of focus on it to give this light feeling.

I agree -- the last one is a "Keeper" thumb.gif I like how the light hits the flower. Show's it off nicely.

    Hi Paul,

I'm voting for #3 as well. I think the more squared-off framing is preferable in this case. Nicely done.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.
