The idea - get some DGriners/Smuggers out there for a few days. Take in some sunsets sunrises, wildlife.
Winter has taken its toll here - so I want to see some greeeeeeeeen.

The first week of April is definitely out. Let me get some dates for later in April. How long are you all wanting to go for? Weekends? Any weekdays? Of course availability lodging-wise needs confirming, too.

and at least by the end of April we should have more foliage to work with. I'm only out in Purcellville, which isn't as far west as Shenandoah, and we're still looking at buds.

I head across the pond April 20 for two weeks, but I sure wish I could join you guys. Everything's starting to bloom around here and looks gorgeous.

Gives two days of shooting/hanging out instead of one.
I can get one, two, or three rooms.
I have no problem bunking-up with another person.
Any interest?

That'll work for Liz and I. We can be up there early Friday AM and go from there.

Website @ Shenandoah shows availability for Late April and Early May, but they are saying no rates available.
Just yesterday there were plenty of rooms - I didn't book any yet as I was waiting for you all to give me a heads-up on using/sharing rooms.
I will try again later on tonight and tomorrow, and will call them, too.
Arrggghh.....

There must have been some downtime at the reservations server.
Three rooms are on-hold. There are two beds in each room.
Let me know if want to participate.
I plan on driving up/over on Thursday morning. Meet me there, meet at dinner, meet at breakfast Friday morning.
Oh - and teach me how to take good pictures, too.

Thanks David
Liz and I are in.
I know you've been more than a few times to Shenandoah to take photos. Have you got any particular locations you're looking to get shots at?
I can easily think of Dark Hollow Falls or Big Meadows but beyond that I'm kind of at a loss.
I'm gonna try and squeeze a motorcycle ride down/out that way in the next couple weeks to scope it out a little further.

It's just starting to pop at the lower elevations. This is the view on 211 in Sperryville headed toward the park.
Not really much to speak of at the park entrance I chose, Thornton Gap.
Didn't go south toward Skyland or Big Meadows but instead headed north toward Front Royal. Highest peak along the way was 3100ft(?) and it was fairly typical no foliage along the way. Beautiful day with some very interesting clouds though.
You can really see the lack of foliage in IR.
Which made it easy to single out the trees that did have foliage.
