Dear Smugmug and fellow members

I am trying to figure out how to customize the site, but with no luck. I have my own domain name and I can find it in Yahoo, but...

1. All the HTML meta descriptions/keywords (specially the front page on my Smagmug account) are about Smugmug, photo sharing etc. NOT about me and my site and I cannot find how to change it.
2. All galleries seem to have a fixed title. I do not mind the "powered by Smugmug" bit too much, but I need to change the rest! Yahoo, Google and others shows the search results and the most noticable is the page title and I cannot change it!

The meta description/keywords as well as page title MUST be customizable. These are important for search engines, these affect the search relevance and the potential visitors attention. Would it be possible to add another title (that will be shown as a page title in a browser)?

How I can customize the title, description and keywords per gallery?
:dunno

Has there been any progress on this? I understand that title is customizable, but what about keywords and description for the main page? I find that this is a must have, if one is trying to optimize the site!
    Thanks.

    Thanks.

The meta description is picked up from the text you place in your bio box. You can see an example by doing a web search for my name (Denise Goldberg).

Also, info in this thread: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=68147

Hit up my maximizing findability page, and do all those things?

Example, go to my page http://www.moonriverphotography.com/ and view the page source.

Denise and Andy, thank you guys for the quick responses.
I find this spider test very useful for search engine optimization: http://www.beanstalk-inc.com/tools/spider_test/index.php
You can put in your urls (or any other smugmug site for that matter from my experience) and you will notice that keywords are hardcoded to smugmugs's keywords. But I feel that the professional level account should have the ability to customize the keywords for their own business. Your wiki mentions that this cannot be done now. Is this a feature that SM is working on?
I do see the meta tag for description in HTML of your sites, but it seems that the spider is not picking it up. Why is that?
Thanks again for your help! Andy, a lot of useful posts on this forums - keep up the great job!

Interesting... I put the description tag via the bio box and the spider did pick it up. Andy, you may want to check into why it's not picking it up on your site. My SM site is not hooked up to the domain name yet (not sure if this matters...)
