Am I missing something about the "collect" feature?

I like the concept of this feature. If someone like my photo they can collect it into another gallery which in turn gives me more exposure.
The HUGE problem though is that when this happens, it seems that MY pricing on the photo is thrown out and the photo is priced at whatever price the other user who collected it has set, and this is BAD for me.

No,no, no - the collected photo maintains all of the settings of the gallery it is collected from - all of the image protection settings and all of the pricing. If someone collects your photo, and it sells, you make that sale!

Well then something is odd because thats not what i'm seeing. If I go to the SmugMug marketing gallery, to the sunset photo by John Harrison here:
http://cmac.smugmug.com/gallery/5363890_2awbk/#743634929_tGx5h
I can buy the photo in an 8x12 Glossy for $3.99
If I instead go to John's gallery here:

And try to buy that photo, the 8x12 is $45
