I like it. I especially like how the dock takes you right out to the orange.

    Hi Karl
It is nice to see someone was able to witness the sunrise this morning. I was out with some friends on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Lake</st1:PlaceType> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Ontario</st1:PlaceName></st1:place> this morning and the tones were expectantly mute. We are still under a weather system that might not move out till Monday morning. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

I think you have done really well here with the long exposure and its silky smooth effect on the water. The reflective colours in the water compliment the rising light in the sky. This is a great capture in itself.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
Have you given any thought to cropping out the left side of the image? I'm thinking a crop that is tight enough to have the start of the dock fill the entire bottom edge of the frame might help maintain the focus on the sunrise. As it is my eye tends to wander over to the storm clouds in the right corner. <o:p></o:p>
No matter where you go; there you are
    Regards

    Very nice capture Karl. clap.gifclap
I can see what James says about the storm clouds on the lhs but they don't bother me that much, and imho the image works better in this aspect ratio.

First off, thank you all very much for the feedback on this image :D

I went ahead and tried the crop to see how it worked. I like the crop, but I'm not sure which version I like better. Thoughts?

I think the change is subtle in the 2nd but it's a little stronger.
