I need a reflector setup for on-location shoots. I want something to reflect as well as a diffuser to provide shade from direct sunlight. I work alone most of the time so I will also need a stand or holder of some sort.
Any suggestions?

You might try backdrop outlet and they are having a sale on reflectors this weekend.

I finally ponied up for something more than a piece of foamboard. Picked up this Interfit kit today locallly - it's cheaper online but since I have a shoot tomorrow and it was here available NOW at my local camera store, I figured I'd give it a try. Given that the stand can be used as a 2nd lightstand with the addition of an umbrella adapter, I figure it's a pretty good investment, especially since I'vewanted a 5-in-1 reflector as well for quite some time.

The reflector(s) themselves are very nice quality - no complaints at all. The stand is fine; the bracket is a little fiddly and it overbalances the stand once the reflector is attached so I guess I need to weight it, but overall I'd say it's a pretty good all-in-one solution for a decent price. I like the results the large reflecor gave in my test shots, so here's hoping.... I should be using it tomorrow as long as the light is anything like it was today.

Too bad the stand did not have a boom arm so you could add a small sandbag to the arm.........

If the sun does not cooperate then bounch your flash into it.........

I made a sandbag with some rock and a pillowcase a while back (yeah, high tech, that's me rolleyes1.gif) and will just put that across the base. A bit mcgyver, but it will work.

It's just nice to use something purpose-designed for a change! My foamboard+musicstand combo works (and I'll probably use it by choice in certain situations), but it is nice to have something which extends higher than about 3'6" high and can actually tilt without falling off ..... :D

Thanks for the great info. I looked on ebay and found a kit that has a 40"x60" 5in1 reflector and a holding arm with stand for about $85. I went with the larger size because I think that I will use the translucent diffuser more than anything and wanted enough surface to shadow a full body shot.
