One of my favorite places ... Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park will be closed to the
public starting Monday, for three months! The single lane loop road is being repaved for the first time since
1978. It is much needed but I am sure that I will experience withdrawal symptoms.

Here is a displaying Wild Turkey from early this morning
It was 28 degrees and that's frost on the ground

    Thanks Deb.
There was a Snowy Owl that spent some time in middle Tennessee last year .... it caused quite a stir in the Tennessee birding community. Not having the same birds and wildlife in all regions is what gives us an excuse to travel with our camera gear! :ivar

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Personally, as long as they are passable, I'll take the crappy roads. That's why I have 4-wheel drive. Fewer (if any) people!

    Opens June 1st?

    Very nice capture Bob!

I hear them gobbling every mornings but I haven't been able to get a close shot yet.

I was trying to get a shot of some bald eagles the other day and saw a flock of thirty or forty turkeys....... but there was no way I couldn't sneak up on them in the crusty snow.
