What are the settings for maximum privacy but where users can still use keywords?

I spent a few hours on this a year ago, but the solution I came up with doesnt seem to be working now, at least with sharegroups.

I want visitors to my sharegroup to be able to use the keyword and search facilities to search for photos with that keyword across all the galleries in the sharegroup.

I also want to maintain as much privacy as possible. I dont want any of my photos being put into the google cloud, ever. I dont want basic searches from unknown people to allow them to view my photos.

I am happy to use a password for each gallery, but what other settings would I need such that my sharegroup visitors can use the search features, but no one else can see my photographs.

Thanks so much for any help.

P.S. Is it possible for sharegroups, or other visitors, to use organizational features like Most Popular Photos, Top 100 Keywords, Photo Timeline, that we have on our own accessed homepage.

You should be able to use Hello World = no, and hello Smuggers to be yes, and then those galleries (or your whole site, if you choose) will be searchable within SmugMug but not found by Google.

Thanks for your reply. By 'Yes' to Smuggers you mean the level 1 or the level 2?

Also, does that mean any person on the smugmug website can search my photos, or just ones who are invited to the Sharegroup?

To my knowledge, there are simply no settings that will allow only certain users to view your galleries, but allow those users to use keyword search.

Any setting that limits access to galleries such as passwords or unlisted galleries shuts off keyword search. That's because keyword search would allow those galleries or images to be discovered in violation of your restricted access. Smugmug does not have gallery by gallery keyword search so that only those who have access to a gallery can search there.

There seems to be a difference between the way a site wide password is treated, and a password for sharegroups. With a site wide password (and logged in as the site wide visitor) I can see keywords and lot of other features, with my Smugisland setting at #2. With just a gallery or sharegroup password, I cant see any keywords even with the same smugisland setting.

If I pushed my smugisland settting up to #1, would that enable people with passwords to passworded galleries and sharegroups to see keywords (and search etc). And how does that impact the ability of random strangers to see whats behind my passworded galleries?

    Smugisland setings:

#1- 'Yes: The default option, perfect for people who seek fame.'

#2- 'Your Name Only - This is the "don't thwart your grandma" option. She can still search for your name on any SmugMug page to find you, but your photos won't show up in searches and won't land on our popular photos page.'

I dont want fame, I just want visitors to be able to search by keyword.
