so I felt I wasnt getting good enough performance from my Tamron 70-300mm zoom, I guess you cant expect million dollar photos for 189.00... so I manned up and bought the new Nikkor 70-200 2.8 VR2 zoom.. the unsuspecting ducks and geese were my willing subjects.

my best guess is this is half duck half goose half red (green) headed step child..

all in all I am pretty dam impressed with the new lens. I guess it is true, you get what you pay for. the rest of the photos can be found here: http://3dogphotos.com/Nature/Ducks-and-Geese/11389368_dbU8Q#800358561_LnJD9

Hope you enjoy, CC is always welcomed, I know the whites on the weird duck are blown out alittle, and I think I need to focus on the whole animal and not just the head/eyes.

    What On Earth
Holy cow,I sure was not expecting that,I think there just might be a little inbreeding going on in that first shot.I do like the 4th shot a lot!!!!

my only guess is its a mallard/domestic ducks mix, it was with a mallard hen.
