The great snowstorms in the Northeast brought an unexpected benefit for Samantha. When my mother is snowed in, she gets bored and starts knitting. Here's something she whipped up in 2 days when she got snowed in last week! Sam's favorite color (of course).

D700 and 85mm, f1.4 @f2

Cute, as always. Love the little fringes. For a long time, my wife crocheted fringes and beads on my daughters socks. Very confident look....

Nice sweater but your model really makes it shine. You can tell how proud she is to show it off :) Nicely done.

What interests me most about this is the *very* narrow DOF. I often don't feel comfortable with that - feel like I've got glue in my eyes - but it's attractive here, and helps make the shot work.thumb.gif

Thanks, Neil. I'm often taken aback by unnecessarily narrow DOF as well. For this shot I went with f2 since she was standing so close to my front doors. I needed to get them OOF and couldn't move further away because it was pouring rain!

Glad you thought it worked here.

You are the shallow dof master these days. bowdown.gifbowdown.gifbowdown.gif

As always, the kind of light and look to which I aspire but only seem to nail once in a while - do I need to move south?!?!??!?!?!?!? :D

Samantha, as always, a little doll - the camera loves that kid!
