I am sure I saw this before but I can not find it.

I am looking for a 1.4x teleconvertor. I am leaning towards third party TCs for more flexibility. I am also having a hard time finding reviews, specifically head to head comparisons.

So how does the sigma version compare to the Canon? What about other brands like Tamron?

Here's a shootout review covering the Canon and the Tamron:

    Haven't seen one comparing Sig's with Canon's.

    Hope this may help.... cheers

Unless you are getting Sigma lenses, I would not buy a sigma TC. I have Nikon mounts and the sigma TC works great with the sigma lenses, but does not communicate with nikon lenses. The AFS is slower and the EXIF data is all wrong. It isn't a flaw with the sigma TC, just sigma doesn't fully work unless it is paired with sigma lenses.

If you are going third party TC, Kenko 300 Pro series would probably be a better choice.
