Smug account or domain name first?

Hi all, my name is John and I was planning on signing up for a Smugmug pro account but I was wondering if I should get my costume domain name first or the smug account first? Does it matter? Thanks!

It doesn't really matter, but if you get the Smugmug account first, then when you get the custom domain, you can set it up from the beginning to point to your Smugmug account. Before you have the custom domain, you can always still use your Smugmug account with http://nickname.smugmug.com where nickname is your Smugmug login name.

I paid for the account and domain name, now I am trying to figure out what to put for the Nameserver 1: andNameserver 1:

Any info on that would be appreciated, thanks

Read this: http://www.smugmug.com/help/professional-accounts. If that doesn't solve it for you, then post your question here and Smugmug's domain expert will fix you up.

I went to the first link you gave me and I had already done that. Is that all I need to do? no configuring over at the godaddy control panel? Sorry for all the questions, just kind of confused lol

As it says on that page, you need to set up a CNAME to domains.smugmug.com at your domain registrar. There are specific instructions for GoDaddy and it's different for other registrars. Who did you get the domain through? New DNS entries can take as long as 24-48 hrs to become active everywhere.
