Red Bull Snow Charge

Got to go to my first Red Bull event of the year this last weekend, and although the weather could have been better (well at least it didn’t rain) it was still a great time.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The event was the Red Bull Snow Charge which had 200 riders line up, run for their boards which had been lined up in random order, then race down the hill. I was supposed to get a shot of the horde of people coming down, but 1) the fog was soooo bad that anything zoomed out at all only showed black dots for riders 2) there was no massive horde of riders, only a steady stream, with the leader way out front.

Anyways, just thought I would share some of the better shots I got for the day, CHEERS!

C&C always welcomed =)

    Very cool!

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

    Thanks guys =)
I would love to be able to control the weather, space, and time. Would be perfect for being a photographer, but until that day...just gata take the good with the bad I guess =)

Thanks for checking out the photos!

Looks like a fun event. On the Mini Finish Line one did you add some blur in post-processing? Something does not quite look right to me.

    Hey Mike,

Ya, that was my (poor?) attempt at a fake tilt lens effect to try and make it look miniature. Maybe it didn't turn out as well as I was hoping, but still learning the technique in PS.

Thanks for checking out the images though :D

    Cheers

It was my poor understanding. I have never seen tilt shift before this. Now that I know what is going on, I like it.

Hey Rick. late with the thanks here, but glad to see you like the tilted shot =) I am having lots of fun making these, and even thinking of buying one of the Russian models of shift lenses that I have read about on here. Won't be for a bit yet, but hopfully this year!
