I think I prefer the first one for the action but the color is nicer in the second. Was this taken from behind glass, there seems to be a reflection or something.
Thanks, Ben, Gluwater and Karz........... I am having trouble with the post of perfectly normal photos. These are for the challenge. No, no glass, my lens was clean as far as I know. It was early from 7 AM til 10 AM, these were probably between 8 and 9.
I am wondering if the first one is too soft. And I just can't seem to get the colors right. The water is colorless and there is that blue. I don't feel a problem with the snowy, except that it is too busy with no clear message.
I am paranoid about post anymore, sure makes things tedious, boring and long, then overworked and bad.
thanks, ginger
I got other good photos, so much work, post is........
Hi Hichuz, yes, I like the subtlety of the Snowy, I am afraid it is too subtle for the challenge. I redid the first one AGAIN, this time did very little to it. But someone in the Challenge forum did notice that it was less sharp than the other pelican.................so, I probably should use the second one. I have lots of just good shots from this morning, but I am tired, too. Thanks for looking and commenting.

This version is a major improvement.

I didn't mention it, but I want to. I changed settings on my camera, to al servo, I think, and my machine gun did fire as asked, or at least as much as expected, yesterday, knock on wood.
And it worked in vertical, so my lens and my camera appear to be just fine. I am a bit better, smile.

Can't believe I missed this post. I must be blind. :
Like that Pelican , Ginger. These things have huge mouths....and an even bigger craving for fish. When fisherman (I) clean fish...there are dozens of these hungry birds fighting for every little scrap of fish. It gets pretty hairy at times. Throw in your supply of egrets and herons..and sometimes it gets down right ugly. You have to watch out they don't attack you to get to the fish.
